Our Story
Generations Dance Academy, originally founded as the Wendy Burke School of Dance in 1990 by our Principal, Wendy Burke, has been inspiring children for over 30 years. Through dedication and passion, Wendy moved the school to its current studio facility in the heart of Huntingdon in 2012, unlocking endless possibilities for growth.
As the school evolved, so did its name. Rebranding to Generations Dance Academy, Wendy brought together an incredible team of teachers and admin staff, allowing us to offer over 50 classes each week in a variety of dance genres.
After more than two decades of teaching, Wendy began teaching the children of her former students—literally teaching for generations! It was this beautiful legacy that inspired our new name.
Today, Generations Dance Academy is one of Cambridgeshire’s leading dance schools, boasting three state-of-the-art dance studios, a café, a dance shop, and even a micro-gym, all nestled in the heart of Huntingdon.

Our studio is located in the heart of Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, offering over 700 square metres of space. We have three spacious studios with sprung floors and air conditioning, a welcoming café and waiting area called ‘The Barre,’ a private gym known as ‘The Power House,’ and our very own on-site dance shop, ‘Dancewear Boutique.’
At Generations Dance Academy, we offer a wide range of classes, including Ballet, Tap, Contemporary, Acro, Street, Musical Theatre, and even Circus skills like Aerial training. We also offer unqiue SEN classes as we believe dance should be open to everyone and inclusive of all levels and abilities.
Our team of passionate, highly trained, and experienced teachers are all Enhanced DBS checked, first aid trained, and fully insured. We proudly teach with prestigious institutions such as the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance (ISTD), Acrobatic Arts, Showtime Circus, Progressive Ballet Technique, and Alixa Flexibility.
